Syaoran and Sakura had come from a desert country. Kurogane’s country had very few large religious celebrations. But when Fai had heard of the celebration of Christmas in the new world they had landed in, he was quick to speak up. It seems that there had been a very similar holiday in his world. That was the first time I ever really saw his damn smile. It mesmerized me from the start, from before I had even known the idiotic mage. I could see that there was more of a story behind that smile than what I could ever see on my own, and I became drunk on it. Drunk on his damn smile and the damn story behind it, searching for a thirst I could never quench.
If anyone who had known me well enough had been there, they would have seen it as the first sign of the apocalypse when I didn’t kill
